Guiding Swimmer Development

Coaching Team

Our coaches & Poolside Support

Our coaching and poolside team work together to support swimmers at every stage of their development. Coaches lead structured training sessions and guide progression, while poolside helpers assist with organisation, safety and session flow. Together, they help create a positive, well-run environment where swimmers can train, improve and enjoy their time in the water.

All Beverley Barracudas coaches are trained in line with Swim England coaching standards and hold appropriate qualifications, safeguarding certification and DBS clearance for their role.

Coaching & Poolside Team

Coaching & Poolside Volunteers

Beverley Barracudas is supported by a range of teams working both poolside and behind the scenes. From coaching and club management to officials and volunteers, each group plays an important role in keeping the club running safely and successfully.

Training Leadership

Lead Coaches

Lead coaches oversee the club’s training programme, squad pathway and swimmer development. These roles are typically held by coaches with Swim England Level 2 or Level 3 coaching qualifications, supported by experience in competitive swimming.

Session Coaching

Squad Coaches

Squad coaches deliver training sessions, support technical development and guide swimmers’ progression. Squad coaches normally hold Swim England Level 2 coaching qualifications, or are working towards this level.

Developing Coaches

Coaching Assistant

Assistant coaches support training sessions, demonstrate skills and supervise sets under the direction of the lead coach. Many assistant coaches hold Swim England Level 1 qualifications or are completing their coaching pathway.

Session Support

Poolside Helpers

Poolside helpers assist with organisation, safety and equipment during sessions. This role does not require a formal coaching qualification, although safeguarding checks may apply.
